Police Check or Criminal Background Check for China Z Visa? I got my work visa to come to china with no problem while having a criminal background (misdemeanor DUI) and I also received my resident permit with no problems. Came into get a DOJ background check I needed for a work visa in China.

You're presumably only going for a tourist visa or short-term study visa, not like they have to do a complete background check for employment in China And it's not like you're something really wicked like a Free Tibet activist, Falun Gong member, or journalist.
